EMISSIONS TESTING TECHNICIAN – Stationary Engine – Rockies area, CO

Role Synopsis

Emissions Testing Technician is responsible for providing exceptional customer service in completing emissions stack testing utilizing mobile labs containing FTIR and portable analyzers; providing accurate documentation for EPA emissions reporting, and performing vehicle and instrumentation maintenance.

Key Accountabilities

  • Perform emissions testing utilizing FTIR and portable instruments
  • Process and analyze emissions testing data
  • Develop client deliverable emissions reports
  • Perform maintenance on labs, generators, and computers
  • Prepare mobile labs for extended test periods
  • Calibrate instrumentation according to EPA, State, and manufacturer’s recommendations/requirements
  • Maintain a clean and professional work environment

Job Requirements

  • Possess exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
  • Willing to travel extensively for extended periods of time
  • Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds; work at elevated heights; and able to climb scaffolding, catwalks, and ladders
  • Must be flexible on work hours and shifts
  • Proficient in computer use including Word, Outlook, Excel, and demonstrate the ability to learn new software packages
  • Demonstrate attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Demonstrate mechanical aptitude
  • Ambition to learn new processes and suggest process improvements
  • Willing to understand and read EPA and State testing methods, requirements, and processes

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited school in Engineering
  • 0-2 years of experience
  • Must be 21, have a valid driver’s license, and must show driving record

Desirable Qualifications

  • Flexible and proactive problem solver adept at achieving results in a team-oriented and collaborative environment, but also able to function effectively working independently
  • Ability to effectively manage time and schedules
  • Proactive, enthusiastic, and willing to grow professionally
  • 1-3 years of experience with previous emissions experience
  • 1-3 years of experience with the natural gas compression industry
  • Chemical or Environmental Engineering background preferred
